About US HUPO

 

US HUPO is a 501(c) 3 organization that engages in scientific and educational activities to encourage the use of proteomics technologies and to disseminate knowledge pertaining to the human proteome and that of model organisms. Learn more about US HUPO at www.ushupo.org

 

The purpose of the organization is to:

  • Promote the exchange of knowledge and research techniques via training fellowships, instructional courses and workshops, as well as organization and funding for international meetings, all primarily within the United States of America;
  • Provide expert advice to governmental and non-governmental agencies on the support of human and other proteome research;
  • Collect and distribute information on human proteome-related programs and projects;
  • Promote open access to major resources for human proteome analysis, such as databases, collections of DNA clones, cell lines and other biological samples; and
  • Participate with other international organizations involved in proteome research and related development and providing support for or assistance with their activities, including, particularly the International Human Proteome Organization (HUPO International).


US HUPO has held an annual conference since 2005 and has hosted the HUPO International World Congress three times.
